Current turnover bands and government fees

The general bands apply to new applications from 1 April 2026. Select the category using the food activity as well as turnover; FoSCoS lists activities that need a higher licence regardless of turnover.

How do I choose FSSAI Registration, State licence or Central licence?

For new applications from 1 April 2026, the general turnover bands are Registration up to ₹1.5 crore, State licence above ₹1.5 crore to ₹50 crore, and Central licence above ₹50 crore. Activity-specific rules can require a different category.

Does an FSSAI registration or licence need annual renewal?

Under FSSAI’s 2026 changes, registration and licences have perpetual validity unless suspended, cancelled or surrendered. Annual renewal is not required; check the applicable government fee and ongoing compliance on FoSCoS.

Must the certificate be displayed?

Food businesses should follow the display and licence-number requirements applicable to their premises, invoices and food labels.

Is FSSAI Registration available through an online application?

The main application is online, but the authority may require OTP, video, document, DSC, inspection or other verification depending on the category.

Does the starting price include government fees?

No. The ₹2,000 starting price is our professional fee. Government fees are separate: the current schedule lists ₹100 per annum for Registration, ₹2,000–₹5,000 per annum for a State licence depending on the activity, and ₹7,500 per annum for a Central licence. Confirm the amount displayed by FoSCoS for your application.

Can any business use the same category?

No. Applicant type, activity, turnover, capacity, portal use and authority rules determine the suitable category.
