Compare before proceeding

The two most common routes, compared

Use the closest route as a starting point; the final scope depends on the underlying records.
Route 1

Apply for APEDA e-RCMC

  • I export an APEDA scheduled product and already have IEC
  • Use the DGFT e-RCMC route with the correct export promotion council or commodity board.
  • Submit the application to the relevant export promotion council or commodity board.
Route 2

Complete IEC first

  • I do not yet have an IEC
  • APEDA states that exporters should obtain IEC before applying for its e-RCMC.
  • If the IEC is deactivated, reactivate it before proceeding.
Decision checkpoint: The right route depends on your specific facts — the applicant, purpose, period and any deadline — not just the service name.
Why this is worth doing properly

Benefits of an organised APEDA RCMC Registration Assistance process

Done properly, you’re left with the right outcome and clean records you can use for the next step.

Confirm APEDA product coverage

Your products are checked against APEDA's scheduled-product list, so you apply for RCMC only where it is available and actually required.

Select the correct exporter category

Manufacturer, merchant or merchant-exporter status is fixed up front, because it changes the RCMC declaration and the supporting proof.

Prepare IEC-linked application data

PAN, IEC, bank and address details are aligned exactly with the DGFT profile, so the e-RCMC application is not rejected for mismatch.

Reduce product and identity mismatches

Entity name, signatory and product descriptions are cross-checked across IEC, GST and bank records before submission.

Track application status

The DGFT e-RCMC application and APEDA fee are followed through to issue, with the RCMC number and validity recorded for renewal.

Five clear stages

How APEDA registration is done — five clear stages

You’ll know which stage you’re at, from the first call through to a checked submission and a clear outcome.
1

Confirm the scheduled product and exporter profile

We check the products you plan to export and whether APEDA is the appropriate registering authority for your business.

2

Check IEC and DGFT profile

We check your IEC status and DGFT profile. If an IEC update is needed, we explain the additional work and obtain your approval first.

3

Prepare e-RCMC records

We organise the business records, product details and signatory authorisation needed for your e-RCMC application.

4

Submit through the DGFT e-RCMC service

After you confirm the application details, we submit the APEDA RCMC application through the DGFT portal and share its reference.

5

Save the certificate and review continuing obligations

We track the application and explain any query. After approval, we share the RCMC and highlight its particulars and validity.
